Dependability Requirements Based on Process and Resource Descriptions

The dependability of manufacturing processes by means of suitable models for products, production processes, and manufacturing resources can be analyzed quickly, efficiently and parallel to the design process. The complete description is based on the object-oriented and hierarchical engineering exchange language CAEX (according to IEC 62424) on the one hand, and on formal process descriptions (according to VDI/VDE guideline 3682) on the other hand. The concept is explained based on the parameters reliability and availability and demonstrated using a test facility as an example.
