Tests of Field Devices with Profibus PA 3.02

Abstract

Users in process automation are more and more asking for field devices with implemented Profibus PA Profile 3.02. After finishing the standardization works and the implementation of the PA Profile 3.02 into the certification process of PI (Profibus & Profinet International) in 2009, practice-oriented examinations should demonstrate the realization and the impact of the new functionalities. The paper describes how field devices according to PA Profile 3.02 of different manufacturers have been tested at the test lab of BIS Prozesstechnik in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
