Abstract

With the increasing development of digital twins, simulation models become more important. They are a major asset within all engineering processes and complete the final delivery. In contrast to real world components, whose requirements regarding the intended quality are specified very precisely, this is rarely or not at all the case with simulation models. This is due to the novelty of simulation as a part of the delivery, and the lack of suitable quality criteria for simulation models. The article addresses this problem and as a first step presents a new type of metric for objectively determining the quality of simulation models.
