Abstract

Modular process units enable the flexible construction of process plants and thus fast reactions to volatile markets and changing process conditions. This paper presents a method for the validation of these plants using virtual commissioning. For this purpose, cold commissioning models of the process equipment assemblies are connected to one another. By integrating them into a virtual plant and using the Module Type Package, the behaviour can be simulated. Through the execution of recipes the functional suitability can be analysed.
